I'll be waiting for your feedback, remember that your feedback will also reflect on the AI that will come in the actual release, in making of this patch i already improved it hugely on what units it supports so far, and i did many misc build file tweaks just for this version.

i did about 10 test games against the ai and i think the ai is concentrating on increasing the ressource operations too much... there is almost no fighter production, the ai tries to kill me with capital ships only and if there is no fight in progress they dont produce anything but harvesters and mobile refineries. furthermore, the ai should try to protect their harvesters...i can kill all of them with only 1 squadron, because there are no ai-interceptors and because the ai is using all of its corvettes and destroyers in a single attack fleet. nevertheless, it is already fun now to play against them... unfortunately, it's no competition keep up the good work

Afaik i cannot affect wether or not it protects its harvesters, but the fighter production thing i can try to fix. It sometimes keeps a cruiser escort near, sometimes not. It seems to depend how far the resourcing spot is from their point of origin.

I begun work on research tree but I noticed that there would be no use of it until we get instalations like Arcadia ingame. ...so I focused on another gap, namely shipicons. I already have Icons for Orion, Fenris, Apollo and Valkyrie. I think the sideview wireframe thing would be better, that would also allow us to use existing art by Devils_Hitman for the Ahriman and Valac for wich he had made sideview wireframe artwork, and FS2 had plenty of the sideview wireframes afaik.

yeah AI should build more so it wont have only basic fleet +3squads when i jump in 3orions and 1 typhoon a few bomber and assault craft squads.... FS briefing icons would look sweet btw maybe you should make transports armed like they should be so resourcing operations arent so vulnerable

Can't do armed resources in HW2 as it crashes, Duelron told me that. Getting the ai build certain thing more is tough without making it build it exessively, atm it builds to much ships of just 1 type. Shivans seem to favour demons and shaitans, while NTF favours just Orions..

too bad that HW2 is so restrictive about armed collectors then.... yeah i noticed they build only few types PVN builds only Amuns Osirises and Seths since you are AI coder do you know how AI decides which classes to build(like firepower,speed etc.)?

It doesn't care about firepower or speed, theres just certain figures that the coder assigns, the ai chooses a ship to build based on these figures, though the explanations i provide might be a bit incorrect.
Heres a example from the Cain class.
NewShipType.fighterValue = 0 NewShipType.corvetteValue = 20 NewShipType.frigateValue = 0 NewShipType.neutralValue = 10 NewShipType.antiFighterValue = 6 NewShipType.antiCorvetteValue = 15 NewShipType.antiFrigateValue = 10 NewShipType.totalValue = 61
I.e when the AI needs a anti-fighter unit, it looks at the antiFighterValue, and i think it compares it to the target ships fighterValue. I'm not very good at assigning these figures, so maybe you want to give it a try mr. WHO? If you want ill send you my current development version so you can give it a try.

You don't have to sent it, I finnaly mannaged to unpack my .big file.
If AI favor destroyer so much then we should allow it to build only 3 or 4 so it could build other things later. Plus: all fleets should have two destoryers at start so they could build twice as fast.
Also I think that because we dont have any HW kind of corvette we should do something like this (so AI could build such stuff better):
Fighters-Fighters Corvettes-Bombers Frigates-Cruisers and Corvettes Capitals- destroyers and bigger
Umh...AI build corvettes to counter fighters so it should be bit diffrend: Fighters-Bombers Corvettes-Fighters Frigates-Cruisers and Corvettes Capitals- destroyers and bigger
Umh... there is no Capital Value so all capships will count into frigates.
Edit: Meanwhile I finished all icons for FS1 Terran and Vasudan combat ships.
Edit2: I'm playing with those AI Values right now, I'll notice you when I'm done.
Edit3: What line do I have to change to make fighter recognized as corvetter by other ships? (I don't mean corvette build family, but display family and when I make a "box select attack command" I want some other anti-corvette ships to attack this recognizes as corvette fighter?

OK I'm done, here what I mannaged to do: GREATE WAR PERIOD (main test Me vs GTI, smaller test Me vs Shivan HoL team) It looks like AI try to build this kind of stuff that is best to counter you. Because You start with lots of capship and no fighters/bombers AI try to deal with that by building lost of capship and bombers. Spotted builded ship: GTI- Orion, Fenris (I think that AI would build Leviathan later), Athena bombers Shivans- both types of bombers, propably capitals HoL- both bombers, propably capitals after that....silence We don't want AI to do nothing, so we gather some fighters and bombers and we attack. Most suprice thing is that AI will then act smarter. It will build fighters (spotted ships- Valkyrie, Anubis) to deal with your bombers and if you attack with your capitals it will build more heavy bombers (well HoL and Shivans build medium and heavy bombers from begining, GTI need to be attacked to force it to produce Medusa and propably Ursa). I'll do more test to see what AI do in diffrend situations and try to play more with those Values, AI is still no match for weteran, but it would be damn fun for newbie players.

thx for explanation guys now when you are talking about building heavy bombers mr.WHO i think you should tweak cost of Ursa 550 is much less than it should cost as 2wings can destroy 2 GVC Athena cruisers without any problems and Atena costs IIRC 3000! i know that bombers are made for this task but its without shields......maybe you swaped price with Medusa because it costs a lot

Well i intorduced quite a few NTF ships that aren't in the .big file that you have, like beamless versions of the Fenris, Leviathan, and Orion. And i also fixed the GTVA not being able to build destroyers in the great war 1 era. Not to mention, most of the cruisers had a frigatevalue when that value was supposed to be in corvettevalue, you fixed that one? I also fixed NTF starting fleets in Rebuilding period and Great War 2. I also fixed the issue where NTF was unable to build Medusa bombers in Rebuilding Period, and i also fixed the issue where NTF couldn't build Ulysses fighters in rebuilding period, and made the loadout of the NTF Ulysses a little diffrent from the GTVA equivailent. Maybe to make the AI start more..."fresh" we should just remove all the cruisers from the AI start fleet, and leave it with just the resourcers and the capital ship it starts with? I'll email you the new ntf ships, and the new GTA & GTVA buildfile, and the changed startingfleet configurations so NTF starts with NTF ships instead of GTA.
