The mac version of HW2 is diffrent to that of the PC one in terms how the game interpets the code, thus the mod would need some tweaking to get it work on Mac(otherwise, it crashes as you have noticed), however the mod team would require samples of the mac way of handling things, so they can adapt the code accordingly.'
I would be glad to look into this issue if you can provide me with some decompiled samples(so i can actually read it and see whats diffrent) of the mac version of the .lua files HW2 comes with, and i'll see if i can make FSNA compatible with mac.
Alternative is you just could buy a Mac that can run Windows, then buy & install the Windows version of HW2(wich should be quite cheap, i bought mine for 9 euros).

The problem most likely lies in the weapon files. Battlecry and I helped make TFS mac-capable by fixing a code error.
I'll explain it with an example that a PDS mod member used;
StartWeaponConfig(NewWeaponType,"Fixed","Missile","PDS8-HVASTM-Stg2","Normal",320,60000,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,3,12,20,1,1,25,10,0.1,"Normal",0,0,0)
crashes on Macs, but;
StartWeaponConfig(NewWeaponType,"Fixed","Missile","PDS8-HVASTM-Stg2","Normal",320,60000,0,0,0,0,1,0,0,3,12,20,1,1,25,10,0.1,"Normal",0,0,0)
does not.
That one numerical variable is the max effects spawned variable. On PC, if that variable is 0 it assumes it's unlimited. On Macs, it appears to take it literally, and crashes. Because 1 effect is the minimum allowable.
CHeck out the weapon files, and make sure that variable is always 1, then try to run it.
